Product Review: Freemax Maxus Starter Kit Series

Great starter kits and box mods are far and few. Some look superb but perform horridly, others perform well but look ghastly. One set of box mod kits that encompasses a great exterior and performance would be the Freemax Maxus Series. Offered in three variants, a dual battery 200W, single battery 100W, and the integrated 50W version, the Freemax Maxus Starter Kit Series is a blend of beautiful design elements dotting the exterior chassis with beginner-friendly features and settings packed within for advanced users or for beginners to graduate to as they continue on their vaping journey.

The biggest and baddest starter kit in the Freemax Maxus Starter Kit series would be the Freemax Maxus 200W Starter Kit. Powered by a pair of high-amp 18650 batteries, the SmartLoad Technology integrated into the system will allow users to install batteries in any direction, maintaining a failure-free design that will allow even the uninitiated to power on the device. Equipped with the FM Chip-MAXUS 1.0 Chipset, the Maxus 200W is capable of utilizing a single or dual battery configuration, although using a single battery will only allow the wattage to reach 80W instead of the expected 200W output ceiling. Outfitted with a temperature control suite, the MAXUS 200W Starter Kit is compatible with nickel, titanium, and stainless steel wires for a high degree of customization for those that love tailored vapor output.

The Freemax Maxus 200W Starter Kit is paired with the Freemax Maxus Pro Tank, also known as the M Pro 2 Tank, to deliver outstanding performance in the flavor and vapor departments. Constructed from superior stainless steel and resin materials, the hybrid construction gives the Maxus Pro Tank a visually striking exterior. Interior-wise, the MAXUS Pro Tank utilizes coils from the 904L M Coil Series, outputting exquisite vapor and flavor from mesh coils that require less power and heat evenly and quickly. Holding up to 5mL of eJuice within the bubble glass tank, the Maxus Pro Tank can deliver plenty of vaping before a refill is needed via a sliding top fill system.

The middle child of the Freemax Maxus Starter Kit series is the Freemax Maxus 100W Starter Kit. Constructed in the same manner as the Maxus 200W Starter Kit, the Maxus 100W Kit maintains the features and abilities of the 200W Starter Kit with one caveat. It can only reach the aforementioned 100W due to its single battery slot. Equipped with the same Smartload Technology, the installed 18650 or 2X700 battery can be implemented in any direction without issues, while still offering the ability to utilize temperature control for more advanced vapers. The smaller chassis frame is likeable, not weighing down any pockets, purses, or bookbags, in its travel friendly size and shape and is perfect for those that do not want to “marry” their batteries, like we’ve outlined in our battery care blog. Although it is the middle child, the Maxus 100W Kit is neither not unwanted, nor forgotten.

The Freemax Maxus 100W Starter Kit is equipped with the Freemax Maxluke Tank, also known as the Freemax Fireluke 3, a superior vaping tank utilizing sub-ohm coils from the Freemax 904L X Coil Series, offering delectable vapor output from the mesh heating elements within. The prebuilt nature of the coils make them incredibly easy to install while outputting an unparalleled degree of flavored vapor. In addition, they are compatible with the Freemax Fireluke M/TX Coils should your favorite stockist run out of the original coils. Constructed from durable stainless steel, the Maxluke Tank is perfect for any 510 connection and will outperform a vast majority of lesser sub-ohm tanks.

The final part of the Maxus Starter Kit trilogy is the Freemax Maxus 50W Starter Kit. Although still a great starter kit in many aspects, the Maxus 50W Kit is slightly different than its higher wattage variants. Outputting up to 50W, the Freemax Maxus 50W Kit still utilizes the same great chipset but is powered by an integrated 2000mAh battery. This eliminates the need for rechargeable batteries and charger, making the Maxus 50W the most portable and travel-friendly of the Maxus Starter Kit trio. One downfall of the Freemax Maxus 50W Kit is that the charging must be done via Type-C Cable, eliminating the possibility of throwing in spare batteries when the device runs low on charge, like the previously mentioned starter kits. However, even though the Maxus 50W utilizes an internal battery, the performance of the Maxus 50W remains unhindered as the smaller size still manages to deliver temperature control and compatibility with nickel, titanium, and stainless steel wire options.

The Freemax Maxus 50W Starter Kit is accompanied by the Freemax Fireluke 22 Tank, a smaller tank with access to a variety of Freemax Coils offering MTL or DTL usage. Ideal for all types of vapers, the Fireluke 22 Tank can be used with discretion or can output large plumes of vapor. Offered with 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5ohm coils, the Freemax Fireluke 22 Tank can  call upon the Fireluke 22 Mesh Coils to deliver exceptional flavor thanks to the tea fiber cotton wicking medium that can be found in all the recent Freemax Coils. Constructed from superior stainless steel, the 3.5mL capacity is smaller than other tanks but is perfect in relation to the size and stature of the Freemax Maxus 50W Starter Kit.

All in all, the exceptional offerings from Freemax make the Maxus Series an attractive choice for those that are barely beginning their vaping journey. From the ultra-portable Maxus 50W to the hard-hitting Maxus 200W, the starter kits are leaps and bounds above many starter kits available on the vaping market. With a great chipset within paired with the superior construction of the starter kit chassis, the Maxus Series is sure to have a compatible option to many vapers looking for a dependable starter kit to accompany them on a day-to-day basis. In addition, Freemax atomizers and their respective coils are highly superior and it is nice to see Freemax meeting the same build quality and construction in their latest foray into the starter kit segment. Although the same name of these box mod kits can be slightly confusing, maybe our blog post on Starter Kit Vape Battery Configurations can be of help in deciding if any of the options in the Maxus Starter Kit Series can be for you.
